Equipment

  • Kitchen torch

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. strawberries, hulled and cut into smaller pieces approx. 10 strawberries
  • 1 tbsp. white sugar
  • 6 Twinkies
  • 1 can whipped cream

Instructions

  • *Strawberries need to macerate for at least an hour before using.*
Add strawberries and sugar to a small mixing bowl and stir to combine. Set aside for at least an hour until ready to use.
  • Place your Twinkies on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. If making more than one, space them apart so that the flame of the kitchen torch can reach the sides of each Twinkie unhindered. Turn your torch on and with a medium-low flame, quickly use a back-and-forth sweeping motion over the Twinkie until all the exposed sides are torched. Make sure to not leave the flame in one spot too long or the Twinkie will burn.
  • Place each torched Twinkie on a plate, top with your desired amount of whipped cream and spoon macerated strawberries and their juice over everything. Enjoy!
