Slow Cooker Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

Biscuits & gravy is one of my favorite breakfasts.  What’s not to love about a rich, sausage-filled, creamy gravy over tender biscuits?

Imagine my delight when I saw cans of Campbell’s Country Style Sausage Gravy in the commissary!

I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them – see if my favorite breakfast could be made in a slow cooker!  Guess what?  It was a great success!  Now I can have Slow Cooker Biscuits & Sausage Gravy without turning on the oven or having to make gravy!

Honestly, I was skeptical when I bought the gravy.  After all, I had never had gravy out of a can, let alone one with sausage in it.  I thought maybe the texture would be weird or the flavors would be off.  Nope.  It was delicious!

NOTES:

  • This recipe has only been tested with the Campbell’s Country Style Sausage Gravy that is shown in this post.  I have not tried it with other brands or types of gravy.
  • An oval 5-quart slow cooker was used to test this recipe.
  • I like to put a dish towel under the lid of the slow cooker to absorb condensation so the biscuits don’t get soggy.
