My 10 Favorite Products at Trader Joe’s #2

Whether you’re new to Trader Joe’s or a seasoned shopper of the store, you might not know about all of their fantastic, affordable products.  They are constantly adding new goodies to the shelves, which means there is always something new to try!  While I have my go-to products that I buy every single time I’m there, I’m always looking to try something new.  So, here is round two of my favorites, My 10 Favorite Products at Trader Joe’s #2.

As I was deciding if I wanted to update my previous list of favorites with some new additions or create an entirely new list, I realized that there are far too many things I love at Trader Joe’s to have only one list.  So, if you haven’t already read my first list, you’ll want to read, My 10 Favorite Products at Trader Joe’s before coming here.

Some of these items may be seasonal, so keep an eye out for them right now!  Some of these items are pantry essentials that I never thought to buy at Trader Joe’s, but will from here on out, and some items are things that just make me do a happy dance because they’re so great.  Enjoy!

#10 Trader Joe’s Active Dry Perfect Rise Yeast

It might seem crazy that a basic pantry staple like yeast would make the cut for a top 10 list, BUT, did you try to find yeast in the grocery stores at the beginning of the pandemic?  It didn’t exist!  It seemed like people were hoarding both toilet paper and packets of yeast!  I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this on the shelf at Trader Joe’s, it was like I had seen a unicorn!  As tempted as I was to stock up and buy 12 packs, I only bought 2.  I wanted to pay it forward to the good karma universe and allow the ability of sourdough breadmaking to others.  You’re welcome.  Price: 99 cents

#8 Trader Joe’s 100% Honeycrisp Apple Cider

When apple cider hits the shelves each fall, the season of delectable cold weather cocktails commences!  For Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and many cold Saturday nights, I rotate between Slow Cooker Warm Apple Cinnamon Spiced Wine and Spiced Apple Cranberry Warm Rum Punch.  They’re both made with apple cider, and this cider from Trader Joe’s is absolutely perfect for them!  It’s unfiltered and has a deep apple flavor that is not too sweet.  Ingredients: 100% Honeycrisp apple juice  Price: $3.29

#7 Trader Joe’s Organic Cinnamon Sticks

I have to admit that the only reason why I buy cinnamon sticks, is to add to the aforementioned Slow Cooker Spiced Wine and Spiced Apple Cranberry Warm Rum Punch.  I used to buy an organic brand from the grocery store, but it was literally more than twice the price of these AND you get more in the Trader Joe’s jar!  I plop these heavenly scented cinnamon sticks in the pot and wait for them to do their magic.  I highly recommend them!  Price: $2.49

#6 Trader Joe’s Coconut Oil Spray

I love love love this coconut oil spray for my sweet baking.  I use it to spray loaf pans for banana nut bread, mini muffin pans for Cinnamon Pumpkin Mini Muffins, baking sheets for cinnamon rolls, you name it.  It provides an excellent non-stick surface and while I don’t notice a coconut flavor, it smells heavenly as I spray it!  Price: $2.99

#5 Trader Joe’s Julienne Cut Sun-Dried Tomatoes

I love these sun-dried tomatoes because they have a fabulous texture that’s slightly meaty, and not dried to a crisp.  I guess I’m picky about sun-dried tomatoes?  They’re already julienned for you, making them recipe ready!  I love using them in my Sun-Dried Tomato Vinaigrette, which adds a wonderful flavor to my green salads.  Price: $1.99

#4 Trader Joe’s Onion Salt

I bought this on a whim because I like Trader Joe’s other unique seasoning blends like Everything But the Bagel and Mushroom & Company Umami Seasoning.  I seasoned chicken with it and my 12-year old said it was the best chicken ever!  Thanks for setting the bar so high, Trader Joe’s.  I added it to my stuffing at Thanksgiving, I add it to soups, and really, anywhere I want salt and also a little onion.  This amazing blend contains the whole onion family – granulated onion, granulated garlic, minced onion, green onion, and dried chives.  Worth way more than its weight in salt.  Price: $1.99

#3 Trader Joe’s Habanero Ghost Pepper Salsa

It wouldn’t be the Flavorful Eats house without adding something spicy to the list!  If you also live on the spicy side, you will love this fresh salsa!  It’s hot.  Real hot, but also full of flavor!  It gets its fiery goodness from habanero peppers, serrano peppers, dried japones peppers, and smoked ghost pepper powder.  If you seek out spicy foods, add this to your next Trader Joe’s shopping list.  It’s in the refrigerated section with hummus, dips, etc.  Price: $3.29

#2 Trader Joe’s Scallion Pancakes

I’m not joking when I say these savory scallion pancakes are just as good as the ones you get at a Korean restaurant!  If you have never tried them, they’re crispy on the outside and tender in the center.  There’s bits and pieces of onions, scallions, leeks, carrots, and oyster mushrooms.  You fry them in a pan with a little bit of oil and wait for them to get nice and crispy.  I like to serve them with sriracha for dipping.  Price: $3.69 for a pack of four.

#1 Simpler Wines Rosé

Folks, this is no ordinary wine!  This fabulous 4-pack of rosé cans is magical for several reasons.  First, this is the best tasting rosé wine that I’ve tried; it’s not too sweet, not too dry, it’s perfect.  Secondly, it’s SPARKLING!  If you know me personally, you know I love Champagne and other sparkling wines like Cava or Prosecco.  So we have an amazing rosé that’s sparkling AND each can is 1/3 of a bottle of wine.  That means that you get four 250ml cans, which is 1 1/4 bottles of wine for the AMAZING price of $4.99.  Bargain of the century!
