If you love all the fun flavors of cream cheese at bagel shops, you’re gonna love Garlic & Scallion Cream Cheese Spread!

Fun Fact: I used to work at a bagel shop!

It’s kinda funny how I ended up there.  You see, I started out going there for their sandwiches.

They had THE BEST bagels I had ever eaten – apparently because they were boiled not steamed, which according to the owner, is the “real” way bagels are made.

He was a Jewish guy from New Jersey and he took his bagels very seriously.  Anyways, one day I’m in the bagel shop waiting for my sandwich and I see a “Help Wanted” sign on the window.

Needless to say, I went from a customer to an employee because they’re bagels were that good.

A perk of working at the bagel shop was that I got a free meal on my shift.

Over the course of my employment there, I was able to try just about everything they had and one of my favorite spreads was their scallion cream cheese.  Jalapeno and vegetable were my other favorites, but scallion was my go-to on a toasted everything bagel.

Fast forward to today and I would donate a pinky finger to have a bag of their fresh bagels & homemade spreads.

Since that’s not feasible, I started making my own flavored cream cheeses.  So, Garlic & Scallion Cream Cheese Spread was basically born out of necessity.

I’m not sure how the bagel shop made their cream cheese, but I wanted to take that delicious, oniony scallion flavor I loved and amplify it with some zesty garlic.

The combination is heavenly!  It’s garlicky, oniony, and creamy.  Perfect atop a toasted bagel!
